Spaghetti towers

We had to make a spaghetti towers which had to be the tallest standing tower without holding it to win.
We also had parents which was lucky because they could give us some good advice.
The teams got 11 marshmellows and spaghetti sticks.
The winning was Taupou, Dynei and Blake.They won a marshmellow.

Technology in Room1!

Yesterday are parents and grandparents came up to our classroom to do a technology challenge.My Mum and my friends Mum came along. My Mum knew what to do so we ended up with a tower but it was very thin.[but not really thin.]We had to make a marshmellow and spaghetti tower,but we weren't allowed to eat the marshmellows!I found it a bit tricky.We only had 30 minutes to make it.At the end the highest towers collasped!My friend Taupou,her team won.

Room 1 super heroes

Room1 is being super heroes for the prodution! It is at the intermediate.We are all excited to do the prodution. I am the leader of the lines. I am very importent. My job is to lead the lines onto the stage and start the wave. My favourite song is I NEED A HERO.  By KIERA.

YUM ANZAC BISCUITS!!!

On Friday we made ANZAC biscuits. We made them out of rolled oats, flour, sugar, baking soda, golden syrup and coconut. If we were to give them a rating on Master Chef we would give them a . . . . . . . .  10 out of 10!

ANZAC DAY INFORMATION

The most exciting  bit in world war 1 was...when they made there own bombs out of jam jars, sharp metal and nails. ANZAC stains for the Australia New Zealand  Army Corp.In world war 1, 8417 New Zealand  and 20,000 Australia people went to Gallipoli in Turkey. Turkey had all of the real bombs given to them. They ate bully beef. They made a trenches to hide in.

ANZAC Day Fun

Today  I  liked  learning  about   the  bombs  that  the  ANZAC soldiers  made. I  was  sad  when  James  Simpson  
died  while  helping  a  wounded  soldier.
I  was  happy  when  Australia  helped   New  Zealand   fight   their
enemy.
I  was  disgusted  when  I  saw  what  bully  beef   looks  like.

Financial Literacy

Today we learnt about saving money.

The man from ASB bank told us to spend some on you but save some to. He was being hilarious and pretending to be a caveman then a pirate called captain hand sword and then a normal man called Richie Richie. He told us about efpos cards and credit cards. He explained to us that efpos cards can run out of money.

Blake's Volcanic Eruption!

For homework this week Blake researched about Volcano's. He decided he would make a volcano out of play dough and bring it in to show us. He caused an eruption by adding baking soda, food colouring and vinegar. Room 1 LOVED watching it explode! Thanks Blake!
